Denise Garcia, PMHNP-BC, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to supporting children, teens, and adults through compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. With over eight years of experience across outpatient clinics, community mental health, and inpatient psychiatric settings, Denise brings a warm, practical, and deeply person-centered approach to her work.
Denise specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry, helping young people understand and manage big emotions, navigate stress, and build the confidence and coping skills they need to thrive. She also works closely with adults of all ages, guiding them through life transitions, mood and anxiety challenges, and the everyday ups and downs that shape emotional well-being.
Her clinical experience spans a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, behavioral challenges, and complex psychiatric presentations. She is highly skilled in comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic formulation, psychopharmacology, and brief psychotherapy interventions. Denise is committed to trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and culturally sensitive care, meeting each individual exactly where they are.
Denise earned her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Austin’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida. She is board-certified as a PMHNP through the ANCC and maintains ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in psychiatry and psychopharmacology.
